When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure that an Adventure is going to happen. – A. A. Milne
I love boots all year round, but something about the winter months makes me want to wear them every single day. They are great for sloshing through puddles. You can wear thick, warm (not-quite-appropriate for the office) socks and no one can even tell. And, of course, they make me feel dapper as hell.
There’s something inherently masculine about boots (unless they have a high heel, obvi). A lot of boots have their origins in workwear, the military, or sporting (as in hunting, not basketball), and they carry a bit of that rugged heritage with them.
Boots are utilitarian, sturdy, and tough, and wearing them always gives me a little extra confidence. If I’m wearing boots, I’m strutting through the halls at the office, or striding boldly down the sidewalk.
Every butch should have some boots in her shoe closet. Here’s a roundup of some of my favorites.
